This is my 3rd CREE flashlight. Silly design, 30% larger and heavier than my NU Flare and it puts out less light. The switch is really silly it has “L” “O” “F” and “T” settings, come on could you make it any more complicated?
The “T” is for temporary but sometimes it stays on, the “O” is used so you never turn it on, in “O” it won’t turn on, the “F” is for two flashing modes. My least favorite is the “L” mode, this turns it on full the as you hold the switch it dims from 100% to 90% to 80% and so on. I have yet to get it to 10%, it dims the goes back to full and you start over
Caution!!!!! do not remove the knurled ring holding on the switch assembly, if you do you will be greeted with two tiny steel pieces and their springs flying across the room. Good luck reassembling.

This little sucker is nearly as bright as the highbeams on my car. It hugely outshines my 100-LED flashlight, which I used to think was pretty cool. Okay, it’s a little expensive, but I bet the cost will keep coming down and the technology will keep getting better, just like computers. LED bulbs will change the world, much more so than crappy CFLs.

Reluctantly I purchased this flashlight for my adult son at Christmas. He loved it! It was worth every penny spent.

This is a very nice, solidly built flashlight. My brother has the SureFire Ultra 2, seems very comparable.
I do like the battery indicater light showing how much battery power remains.
I’ve only had this since 1/10/2010 so we’ll see how well it holds up.
I will post another review in 6 months.
